Press release - 2nd February 2011

posted 2 Feb 2011, 13:01 by Bantham And Ongar Bowls Club   [ updated 6 Feb 2011, 01:52 ]
As part of their Christmas celebrations the members of Bantham & Ongar Bowls Club decorated a Christmas tree with messages to their friends instead of sending cards.  For each message on the tree a donation was made.  Proceeds were then shared between the club and St. Clare's Hospice at Hastingwood. Thanks to all those who took part.
Members have just returned from a winter break at Gunton Hall.  The four day break which included four games of bowls, was a great success and everyone enjoyed themselves very much.  Thanks to Sheila Nash for all her hard work in organising a wonderful holiday.
A quiz night is to be held on Friday 25th March 2011.
Keep fit sessions are held every Friday morning starting at 10.00.  For further details on either of these events please contact Sheila Nash on 01277-362003.
The next whist drives will be held on Friday 4th March and 18th March - 7.15pm for 7.30pm start.

During the winter months short mat bowls is played on Monday nights from 7pm and on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm.  If you would like to have a go just come along to the club which is in Weald Bridge Road, behind the Talbot public house (Harvester).  Just wear flat shoes and comfortable clothes.   For more details contact Len Harris on 01277 822847.
The Club are planning an Open Day in May once the new season has started when anyone can come along to have a go.  More details to follow in future issues or visit our website at
