Bantham and Ongar Bowls Club recognises it has a duty of care to its members and groups hiring the hall,we take this very seriously. We therefore will be supporting and following the guidelines as laid out by Bowls England, the UK Government and Public Health England. These will obviously be changing as the national situation changes and we will monitor changes closely.

Bowling

01/06/2020

Following recent Sports England & Government advice and what we believe to be our duty to act responsibly towards our members and other facility users, we have decided that from tomorrow we will re-open the bowls green and allow members to resume bowling in a limited way. Following our risk assessment (See downloadable PDF below) booked rinks will be available for roll-ups only, following strict guidance issued to each member.

Hall Hire & Other Activities

10/08/2020

Following recent Government advice particularly in respect of community halls and what we believe to be our duty to act responsibly towards our members and other facility users, we have decided to re-open the Pavilion (Club house) in a limited way.  Groups and members hiring the building will be expected to comply with our newly revised Hire Policy which takes into account a full venue risk assessment. Each group using or hiring the hall is expected to also provide a detailed risk assessment of the activity being undertaken. In practice this will mean strict measures to reduce the spread of the virus, social distancing and a reduction in numbers. Unfortunately this may mean some of past regular activities may not restart. More information about using or hiring the club pavilion, including our risk assessment can be found on our  HALL HIRE page

We are arranging activities so that only one group is using the premises at any one time. Every person entering the premises are required to give their contact details for the purposes of keeping ‘Track & Trace’ records. We wish all members and friends well.  We will continue to follow Government advice on the coronavirus outbreak and post any updates regarding the club premises on our website.
